How to use an AI math tutor for homework night
A realistic session plan for finishing assignments without losing the learning.
Homework night goes better with a simple script: attempt, get unstuck, verify, move on. Eqora fits in the middle of that script.
Session script
Set a timer for a first solo attempt. Scan only the problems that still block you. Ask one clarifying follow-up per stuck step. End by redoing one problem cold.

Triage the assignment before opening the tutor
Scan the whole assignment and mark three groups: problems you can start, problems where one step is uncertain, and problems that depend on a concept you do not recognize. Begin with the first group to build momentum and expose whether the difficulty is isolated or repeated.

Keep parents and study partners in the questioning role
A parent or study partner does not need to supply the solution. Ask the learner what the problem wants, where the attempt changed direction, and which line cannot yet be justified. Use the tutor explanation as a shared object to question, not an authority that ends the discussion.
For younger students, read the prompt and important steps aloud, protect personal information in photos, and follow school rules about AI assistance. The useful outcome is a learner who can take the next step with less prompting.
Close the homework session on purpose
At the end, choose one representative problem and solve it again without the answer visible. Record the method, one common mistake, and any topic that needs teacher or textbook review. This takes a few minutes and turns completed homework into useful revision evidence.
Do not continue generating practice simply because the tool can. Stop when the assigned work is complete, the key method can be explained, and the next review action is recorded. A clear ending protects attention for the next day.
Homework is complete when the work is finished and the learner can name what was learned. Generating every possible follow-up is not the goal.
